The lower bowel contains millions of microorganisms to help the body process nutrients. Improperly digested or slow-moving food may affect the balance of this intestinal flora.
Intestinal Soothe & Build helps ease, soothe and cleanse a toxic bowel and may help with occasional bloating pressure in the intestinal tract.
Slippery Elm
Slippery elm is a species of elm native to eastern North America. Slippery elm contains up to 50% mucilage, which supports delicate body tissues. When mixed with water, the soft, inner bark of the slippery elm tree becomes gel-like and soothing. Slippery elm has been used traditionally to support the digestive system and the mucosal lining of the gut. It also absorbs toxins from the bowel and helps maintain normal elimination. In the 1800s, Native Americans used slippery elm for a variety of benefits, including support for gastrointestinaI tract health to soothe intestinal tissues and for digestive and immune support.
Chamomile
Chamomile is one of the oldest, most widely used and well documented medicinal plants in the world. It enjoys a variety of natural healing benefits. Chamomile stimulates and supports digestive function. Chamomile's nervine qualities help the body cope with physical tension and relax the muscles that move food through the intestines. Chamomile has been used traditionally for minor gastrointestinal complaints, including upset stomach, gas, indigestion, stomach cramps, diarrhea, and intestinal irritation.
Plantain
Plantain grows freely everywhere—in lawns, parks, trails and along roadsides—and is often dismissed as a weed. Yet, plantain leaves are both edible and used as a natural remedy in traditional herbal medicine. Plantain leaves have been used to soothe tissue irritation and promote healing. Plantain contains flavonoid compounds that contribute to the plant's tissue-healing benefits.
Rose Hips
Rose hips are the portion of the rose that remains after the petals fall off. Native North Americans ate rose hips in the wild as a dietary staple. During World War II, when citrus fruit was scarce, Britons gathered rose hips and made them into syrup to nourish children. Rose hips are a natural source of vitamin C and contain beneficial bioflavonoids, antioxidants and related compounds that help neutralize waste in the body. Rose hips are traditionally used to support the immune system.
Marshmallow
Marshmallow root is well-known for its soothing properties, especially for the mucous membranes. Marshmallow naturally contains mucilage, which provides demulcent (soothing) effects on the digestive and intestinal systems. Since the stomach and intestines are lined with these protective membranes, marshmallow soothes irritation in the gastrointestinal tract and may help counteract excess stomach acid. Marshmallow is also considered mildly laxative and is often used for various intestinal conditions. Plus, marshmallow contains pectin fiber that is capable of carrying a host of substances out of the body that often collect or stick to the mucous membranes.
Proprietary blend of Slippery elm bark, Chamomile flowers, Plantain leaves, Rose hips, and Marshmallow root extract.
Intestinal Soothe & Build features an exclusive combination of traditional herbs sourced from the finest growers around the world.
Take marshmallow root, for example. We work with small family farmers in Poland to source our marshmallow in its native climate. These growers have cared for their lands and our herbs for generations. Each year, they sow a new crop of marshmallow in the spring and harvest it in the early fall. We work with these trusted partners to set fair prices to ensure high-quality, long-term production of this important herb.
