I was disappointed with this collagen formula for several reasons. When opening the container envelope, which was not a canister, there was a bit of a chemical smell to the product. The envelope has to be hand sealed with each use. I prefer to stir my collagen into my hot morning coffee, but this formula would not dissolve easily. Even with stirring, clumps formed that stuck to my stirring spoon. Also, the level of sodium was quite noticeable with taste.

I am very disappointed that you changed the packaging....it is very difficult to use now, makes a mess, and I am not able to recycle that bag. Please bring back the plastic jug-like container!

As I've only used this for a couple weeks, I can't say that I've noticed any difference in my skin or my joints. It mixes well with very hot tea and doesn't change the flavor of my tea, but it does make it slightly thick and cloudy. However, those slight differences are well tolerated. I will continue to use the whole container, hoping to see some improvement.

I was having issues with my hair coming out. When I washed my hair in the shower, my hands were covered with hair, along with it in the tub too. It was continual. I had to keep cleaning my brush out. I started with the Collagen and I gradually got to where I had Very few hairs coming out. My nails also grew longer instead of breaking. What a relief!!

Can’t do without
I’ve been using this collagen for many years now. Every morning I add it to my chai tea latte and while it’s basically tasteless, it adds a certain something to it that is better than without, also dissolves well. (Not well with cold stuff though). The quality is consistent. For my age (58), my skin is good, body and face. Wrinkles at a minimum. And I feel great! No joint aches, injuries…knock on wood. Nails decent. Not sure if it has an effect on hair as it’s hard to judge with normal woman thinning.

The first thing I noticed was less hair in the shower after shampooing. I then paid attention to the hairbrush and their is less hair after brushing too...a lot less. I was getting crepe skin as I got older and I think I am noticing a difference there too.. My nails are definitely stronger!

This product may work but...
This product may work but it is too hard to use. I fold it into boiling, cold, or warm water, and it simply won't dissolve at any temperature. It just clumps up and sits on top making it impossible to use. Further, the spoon gets the same clumps, and they harden so fast, I cannot even wash the spoon without a heavy Brillo pad. Maybe I got a bad batch, but for this $$$ I expected better quality. Won't be ordering this again.

I’ve read a couple of reviews stating the collagen powder does not dissolve fully and gets stuck to the spoon. This is true initially but after a minute or so it fully dissolves. Even after drinking my tea I try to look for clumps, or something stuck to the spoon, but it’s fully dissolved. My nails haven’t been this strong since I can’t remember when.

I have weak brittle nails so I tried NSP's collagen. I thought it was helping but when I decided maybe I didn't need it I could see what a huge difference it had made. I am in my 50's and have been dealing with health issues (including skin challenges) all my life. I had my first white hair at 14. After having covid in 2020, my hair took a toll. I started this collagen, only a heaping teaspoon in hot liquid almost every day. More recently I also added a quality multivitamin and mineral combination. After a great while my hair are thick again! My nails are not breaking. It came so gradually I didn't realize the benefits until I was reading these reviews and recognized similar things have taken place. An exciting thing has been happening lately. Short new hair....dark hair! Not white...I had no new hair for the longest time. Will see what happens. Also just deal with the new packaging. I didn't have the old one so don't know the difference. I spoon my powder carefully in a clear hard plastic peanut butter jar with an easy screw cap lid. Easy to grab...easy to use. Best wishes! And thanks for an excellent product!

Not sure what to say about this product
I used the entire canister before posting this review and I'm giving it 3 stars because I really can't say if it has been beneficial taking this collagen product or not. I haven't seen any obvious visible signs (change in hair or nails, etc.) that it is doing anything, but that doesn't mean it may not be doing something beneficial on the inside. I can say that after taking it for a couple of weeks I noticed joint pains - was this from the collagen working in those areas? I have no idea. I'm also not as young as I used to be, so maybe it is more noticeable for a younger person to outwardly see the benefits. But what I can tell you about the product itself is that it does not dissolve as well/easily as another well-known brand with a blue label that I am trying now. This product works best in HOT beverages - I tried it in a few different cold beverages and it just did not mix well and ended up in sticky clumps. Also, it made some beverages I tried it in taste salty - which as not appealing to drink (I tried it in water, unsweetened tea, and milk and it tasted salty in all of these). I don't drink coffee, but I do drink a cappuccino-type drink and this was a good beverage to use this collage mixture in as it was hot enough to dissolve the powder and I couldn't taste the saltiness. I also tried mixing it in hot soup and that worked well, too. I would not recommend it if you plan to use it in cold beverages such as the ones I tried using it in.

I really like Natures Sunshine Collagen. Since it is a powder and is tasteless, it can be mixed with anything to eat or drink. I have been taking it for over a month. It does have some particular smell/taste but it doesn't matter to me, I always go for unscented products and I do understand what the nature of collagen is. When I think of benefits, my palate is ready to put up with that. Eventually you get used to it. I am taking less than recommended (a full teaspoon rather a tablespoon) because I have a history of my kidneys rejecting vitamins in general. My muscle elasticity improved (I started feeling like they were becoming "dry"), my nails became better (even surface), hair loss decreased. I heard hydrolyzed collagen is even better, so I hope NSP will start making that one as well. Just give it a try.

My hair was so damaged by treating it chemically. For around two years I did everything, but it didn't recover, my curls were almost gone and it was always frizzy. I even thought that it was because of my menopause. I started taking this product, and the change on my hair was amazing, it is growing so quickly, my curls are back and it doesn't get frizzy any more.
