Vitamin C is a busy nutrient!
It assists the immune system, helps maintain skin integrity with collagen, is needed for iron absorption, and helps in the creation of enzymes, hormones and proteins.
Plus, it works with bioflavonoids to help protect your body from damaging free radicals.
Support your immune system & quench dangerous free radicals!
According to the National Institutes of Health, dietary intake of citrus bioflavonoids has also been associated with improved cardiovascular health.
Being water-soluble, vitamin C is easily washed from the body and needs to be replaced constantly.
Each tablet of Vitamin C Citrus Bioflavonoids provides 500mg of vitamin C with attending bioflavonoids from grapefruit, lemons and oranges.
Plus, we've added hesperidin, rutin and rose hips to maximize the benefits of vitamin C and provide added nutritional support.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C performs many functions involving the immune system and it provides antioxidant protection. Vitamin C is also involved in iron absorption and in the syntheses of enzymes, hormones and proteins. Without vitamin C, the body cannot make collagen, the substance that holds the body’s cells together and forms the framework for bones and connective tissue. Collagen is needed to maintain skin integrity and for healthy tissue development. Vitamin C also strengthens blood vessel walls and helps support normal-range blood pressure levels. Plus, the adrenal glands need large amounts of vitamin C in order to help produce energy and support healthy immune function.
Grapefruit Bioflavonoid
Grapefruit is a rich source of bioflavonoids, a class of naturally-occurring antioxidants that assist vitamin C activity by inhibiting its breakdown in the body. Grapefruit bioflavonoids also support circulatory health, immune function, and may help maintain normal-range blood pressure. Grapefruit is native to Barbados and was popular in the West Indies before it was more widely known.
Hesperidin
Hesperidin is a bioflavonoid compound from citrus fruit that protects the body, supports healthy blood pressure, and protects blood vessels against damage. Hesperidin helps strengthen capillary walls to reduce fragility and permeability. Hesperidin also enhances cellular antioxidant defenses and supports vitamin C's activity in the body. Hesperidin is found primarily in the rinds of oranges and lemons.
Lemon Bioflavonoid
Lemon bioflavonoids assist the absorption and utilization of vitamin C. Lemon bioflavonoids are excellent antioxidants that neutralize free radicals and help protect the vitamin C molecule from oxidation within the body. Lemon bioflavonoids offer multiple health benefits, including boosting immune function, supporting cardiovascular health and eyesight, increasing capillary strength, and supporting connective tissue health. Lemon bioflavonoids come from the pulp and stringy white inside of the lemon fruit.
Orange Bioflavonoid
Oranges are a significant source of antioxidant bioflavonoids that promote the activity of vitamin C. Studies suggest that orange bioflavonoids may play a role in improving blood flow and blood vessel function. Orange bioflavonoids also support a healthy immune system. The orange tree, now one of the most cultivated in the world, can be traced to the 4th century in China!
Rutin
Rutin, also called vitamin "P", is a bioflavonoid nutrient that affects the permeability (hence the "P") of capillaries. Rutin helps strengthen capillaries and blood vessels while it supports overall circulatory health. Rutin also supports vitamin C’s activity and helps the body with collagen production. Plus, rutin provides powerful antioxidant activity and supports a healthy inflammatory response. Rutin is found naturally in buckwheat, asparagus, black tea and several fruits such as apricots, cherries and prunes.
Rose Hips
Rose hips are the portion of the rose that remains after the petals fall off. Rose hips are a natural source of vitamin C and contain beneficial bioflavonoids and antioxidants. Rose hips contain anywhere from 10-100 times more vitamin C than many other foods. The high vitamin C content of rose hips may improve skin health and help restore the skin's elasticity, which in turn helps minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Traditional uses of rose hips include supporting the immune, digestive and nervous systems, while more recent research suggests support for joint health.
