Vitamin C is water-soluble and easily washed from the body. Since it is not stored in the body, vitamin C needs to be replenished regularly through diet or supplementation.
Give your body's health a boost all day long with Vitamin C Time-Release!
Our complementary proprietary herbal base features Rose hips, Acerola fruit, Rutin, Hesperidin and Lemon bioflavonoids for extra phytonutrient support—this also allows your body to use vitamin C more efficiently!
Vitamin C
Vitamin C performs many functions involving the immune system and it provides antioxidant protection. Vitamin C is also involved in iron absorption and in the syntheses of enzymes, hormones and proteins. Without vitamin C, the body cannot make collagen, the substance that holds the body’s cells together and forms the framework for bones and connective tissue. Collagen is needed to maintain skin integrity and for healthy tissue development. Vitamin C also strengthens blood vessel walls and helps support normal-range blood pressure levels. Plus, the adrenal glands need large amounts of vitamin C in order to help produce energy and support healthy immune function.
Rose Hips
Rose hips are the portion of the rose that remains after the petals fall off. Rose hips are a natural source of vitamin C and contain beneficial bioflavonoids and antioxidants. Rose hips contain anywhere from 10-100 times more vitamin C than many other foods. The high vitamin C content of rose hips may improve skin health and help restore the skin's elasticity, which in turn helps minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Traditional uses of rose hips include supporting the immune, digestive and nervous systems, while more recent research suggests support for joint health.
Acerola Fruit
Acerola fruit isn’t really a cherry, it just looks like one. Acerola is a nutritional powerhouse, particularly known for its exceptionally high vitamin C content—acerola offers up to 65 times more vitamin C than oranges. Acerola is also rich in antioxidant nutrients. Native to the tropical regions of the Western Hemisphere, acerola has been used in traditional medicine to support liver and digestive health, as well as coughs and colds.
Rutin
Rutin, also called vitamin "P", is a bioflavonoid nutrient that affects the permeability (hence the "P") of capillaries. Rutin helps strengthen capillaries and blood vessels while it supports overall circulatory health. Rutin also supports vitamin C’s activity and helps the body with collagen production. Plus, rutin provides powerful antioxidant activity and supports a healthy inflammatory response. Rutin is found naturally in buckwheat, asparagus, black tea and several fruits such as apricots, cherries and prunes.
Hesperidin
Hesperidin is a bioflavonoid compound from citrus fruit that protects the body, supports healthy blood pressure, and protects blood vessels against damage. Hesperidin helps strengthen capillary walls to reduce fragility and permeability. Hesperidin also enhances cellular antioxidant defenses and supports vitamin C's activity in the body. Hesperidin is found primarily in the rinds of oranges and lemons.
Lemon Bioflavonoid
Lemons are likely native to northeast India and western China. They are a versatile citrus fruit prized for their culinary, commercial and medicinal uses. Lemons are rich in vitamin C, as well as bioflavonoid compounds that assist the absorption and utilization of vitamin C. Lemon bioflavonoids also provide antioxidant protection and support immune defenses.
