Many health professionals believe that taking chelated forms of minerals helps support the natural processes for removing heavy metals from the body.
Plus, these important nutrients may also help promote optimal circulatory and heart health.
Vitamin A
Vitamin A is essential for maintaining good eyesight, promoting normal growth, and supporting healthy immune system defenses. Vitamin A also provides important antioxidant activity that helps protect cardiovascular cells from damage caused by free radicals.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C performs many functions involving the immune system and tissue development. Vitamin C is involved in iron absorption and collagen production. Vitamin C also supports the cardiovascular system by helping to improve blood vessel function and blood flow. Plus, the adrenal glands need large amounts of vitamin C in order to help produce energy and support healthy immune function. As an antioxidant, vitamin C works together with vitamin E to combat free radical damage.
Vitamin D
Vitamin D supports both the innate and adaptive branches of the immune system. Vitamin D also plays a crucial role in growth and development, physical fitness, and the health of the nervous system and kidneys. Vitamin D is involved in the production of brain neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine, which are important for regulating mood. And, vitamin D may affect levels of the stress hormone cortisol. Vitamin D may also help regulate blood pressure by affecting certain body chemicals and hormones.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E is important for cardiovascular health. Vitamin E helps to maintain the fluidity of the blood, widens blood vessels to promote circulation, and supports normal-range cholesterol levels. Vitamin E is also necessary for maintenance of the skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscle membranes. And, vitamin E plays a crucial role in supporting immune function. Vitamin E has high antioxidant potency and, because it is fat-soluble, it helps safeguard cell membranes from damage by free radicals.
B-vitamins
B-vitamins perform important functions in cellular energy metabolism, nourish the nervous system, and help with specific enzyme reactions that promote energy, circulation, hormones, and overall health. In particular, vitamin B6 offers cardiovascular support and works synergistically with vitamin B12 and folate to break down homocysteine, an amino acid that can damage blood vessel linings. Vitamin B6 also aids in the synthesis of coenzyme-Q10, a heart-protecting compound. Niacin promotes healthy blood circulation, supports the body's energy system, and exerts antioxidant effects. And, vitamin B12 plays a key role in healthy red blood cell formation.
Iron
Iron is a mineral used by the body in the production of red blood cells and proteins. Iron supports healthy blood oxygen levels by enabling the blood to transport oxygen from the lungs throughout the body. Without sufficient iron, your tissues, muscles and other body systems do not receive adequate oxygen and thus, they cannot perform properly. Iron also supports immune function and is involved in the production of ATP, the primary molecule that provides energy for the cells.
Magnesium
Magnesium is one of the most crucial minerals for heart health and a healthy heart rhythm. Magnesium plays a vital role in regulating normal heart rhythm and function, relaxaing blood vessels for healthy circulation and maintaining blood pressure, and supporting muscle and nerve function to keep your heart strong. Magnesium also boosts energy production, helps muscles relax, and promotes relaxation and restorative sleep.
Zinc
Zinc is key to hundreds of important functions, including immune system function, energy production, and proper functioning of both small and large blood vessels. Zinc is also an essential micronutrient that helps maintain the structure and function of the heart muscle. Plus, zinc acts as a co-factor for important enzymes that contribute to the proper functioning of the antioxidant defense system. Zinc supplementation may also help maintain normal-range cholesterol levels.
Manganese
Manganese is an essential nutrient for intracellular activities where it plays an important role in energy production, immune response, and antioxidant defense. Manganese also supports the muscular and skeletal systems, is essential for calcium absorption and blood building, and is involved in the metabolism of glucose and lipids (fats).
Potassium
Potassium is a mineral that your body needs to work properly. Potassium helps generate energy and is essential for regulating blood pressure and maintaining healthy heart function and normal heartbeat. Potassium works alongside magnesium to support cardiovascular health. Potassium is also essential to the urinary system as it supports kidney function. Plus, potassium is needed for proper nerve transmission, muscle contraction, and pH balance (acidity and alkalinity).
CoQ10
CoQ10 is a vitamin-like substance and powerful antioxidant that helps the heart's energy levels. CoQ10 is essential for cellular energy and critical to maintaining cardiovascular health. Co-Q10 is found in the highest concentrations within organ tissues that work the hardest, like the heart. CoQ10 also supports already-normal-range blood pressure levels, protects cardiac cells, exhibits potent antioxidant activity, and promotes the regeneration of vitamin E, another heart-healthy antioxidant.*
L-methionine
L-methionine is a sulfur-containing amino acid and powerful detoxifier of heavy metals. L-methionine is involved in many detoxifying processes. It provides sulfur, which protects cells from pollutants, slows cell aging, and is essential for absorption and availability of certain minerals such as selenium and zinc.
Rutin
Rutin, also called vitamin "P", is a bioflavonoid nutrient that affects the permeability (hence the "P") of capillaries. Rutin helps strengthen capillaries and blood vessels while it supports overall circulatory health. Rutin also supports vitamin C’s activity and helps the body with collagen production. Plus, rutin provides powerful antioxidant activity and supports a healthy inflammatory response. Rutin is found naturally in buckwheat, asparagus, black tea and several fruits such as apricots, cherries and prunes.
Ginkgo
Ginkgo is one of the most popular and well-studied herbs in the world. Its ability to support circulation has been documented in numerous clinical trials. A powerful free-radical scavenger, ginkgo's antioxidant properties support cardiovascular health and proper blood flow even to remote or problem areas, leading to efficient blood-oxygen exchange. Ginkgo also supports cerebral (brain) circulation to help promote mental energy, alertness, memory, concentration and clarity/focus.
Hawthorn
Hawthorn berries, well-known as a heart-supporting herb, have long been used to support the heart muscle and cardiac function. Hawthorn berries contain flavonoids and other compounds (volatile oils, saponins, alkaloids, vitamins and minerals) that benefit the heart and circulatory system health. Their circulatory benefits are well-studied. Hawthorn berries may also increase the efficiency of nerve impulses in, and protect against oxygen deprivation of, the heart muscle, as well as enhance heart muscle function.
