Keep your brain and metabolism humming with the right hormones.
Target TS II is designed to help meet the nutritional needs of the glandular system—the pituitary, thyroid and hypothalamus glands in particular.
Target TS II provides the minerals and amino acids you need for optimal glandular health.
Target TS II features important minerals—zinc and manganese—chelated to specific amino acids—glutamine, proline and histidine—to aid absorption and provide better utilization in the body.
These amino acids are used by the body to manufacture key hormones.
Target TS II also contains herbs that support the glandular system, nourish and promote a healthy thyroid, and provide essential nutrients that may be missing in your diet.
Nourish your glands with Target TS II.
The pituitary, thyroid and hypothalamus glands all work together to maintain normal levels of thyroid hormones that are essential for the biological function of all tissues, including brain development, food intake, energy expenditure, and the regulation of cardiovascular, bone, and liver functions, among many others.
The pituitary gland produces and releases hormones that carry out bodily functions, including growth, metabolism, fluid balance, reproduction, lactation, and responses to stress or trauma. The pituitary stores hormones from the hypothalamus and releases them into the bloodstream to tell the body what functions are needed and when.
The thyroid gland is responsible for producing hormones that regulate the body's energy use. Thyroid hormones affect virtually every system in the body, including oxygen use, basal metabolic rate, body temperature, cellular metabolism, and even the growth of hair follicles, skin cells and nail beds.
The hypothalamus maintains the body's internal balance by stimulating or inhibiting major bodily functions such as heart rate and blood pressure, body temperature, fluid and electrolyte balance, appetite, sleep cycles, and gastrointestinal function. The hypothalamus also controls the actions of the pituitary via the release of certain hormones.
Zinc
Zinc plays an important role in maintaining the healthy functioning of various glands. Zinc is vital for healthy thyroid function and plays a key role in the production and conversion of thyroid hormones (T4 to T3). Zinc is also needed for hundreds of important bodily functions, including sugar and protein metabolism, DNA formation, energy production, and immune system function. More zinc is found in the body than any other trace element except for iron. Zinc is also prevalent in the prostate and retina.
Manganese
Manganese plays a vital role in glandular health by supporting the production of certain hormones. Manganese is essential for the production of thyroxine (T4), a thyroid hormone that regulates metabolism, appetite, and organ function. Manganese is vital for calcium absorption and blood building and is involved in the metabolism of glucose and lipids (fats). Manganese is also required for intracellular activities where it plays an important role in energy production, immune response, and antioxidant defense.
Hops
Hops have been used historically to support glandular health and as a traditional aid for sleep and nervousness. Hops have a calming effect on the nervous system and are a common ingredient in products used to promote restful sleep and relaxation. Hops have also been used to soothe feelings of anxiousness and restlessness and to support gastric function.
Parsley
Parsley is a rich source of nutrients, including numerous vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Parsley contains vitamins A and C which are essential for healthy immune system function. Parsley also contains potassium, which helps balance sodium levels, and manganese to help manage calcium levels and nourish the nerves. Plus, parsley helps the body flush out excess fluids and toxins that can accumulate in the glands, especially those within the lymphatic system.
Capsicum
Capsicum has a warming strength that stimulates digestion and enhances blood flow, thus promoting healthy circulation of the blood. Widely known for its ability to stimulate circulatory activity, capsicum may promote healthy blood flow in the extremities. Capsaicin, the active ingredient in capsicum, promotes a healthy inflammatory response and may help support healthy glandular function, particularly in the context of chronic stress.
L-Glutamine
L-glutamine is an amino acid that supports cellular growth, energy and repair, and also serves as a precursor for the neurotransmitter amino acids in the brain. L-glutamine also provides energy to the immune and digestive systems, supporting the gut lining, microbiome, and gut immune responses. Plus, l-glutamine may support healthy blood sugar levels and the proper functioning of the pituitary, adrenal and thyroid glands.
L-Proline
L-proline is an amino acid that supports joint and ligament health. L-proline helps form collagen which is needed by the body to form connective tissue, regenerate cartilage, repair skin damage and wounds, and heal the gut lining. L-proline also plays a beneficial role in metabolic functions and energy production, including boosting metabolism and muscle growth. Proline may also make zinc more readily available for absorption by intestinal cells.
Spirulina
Spirulina is a super-food, rich in easily absorbed nutrients, including iodine which is essential for healthy thyroid gland function. Spirulina contains two-and-a-half times more vitamin B12 than liver, is the best botanical source of complete protein available, and contains several antioxidant-rich carotenoids. Spirulina provides support for the nervous system and healthy brain function. Spirulina also contains the amino acid tryptophan, which helps balance the nervous system and plays a key role in the body's production of serotonin and the regulation of stress, mood and appetite. And, spirulina has recently been shown to have beneficial effects on joint health via its antioxidant and immunomodulatory properties.
L-Histidine
L-histidine is a nutritionally essential amino acid that supports immune system function and blood cell production and aids in the growth and repair of damaged tissues. L-histidine helps make a brain chemical (neurotransmitter) called histamine which plays an important role in digestion, immune defense, sleep, and sexual function. L-histidine also helps protect nerve cells and may make zinc more bioavailable to the brain. Histidine has been shown to improve zinc absorption.
Kelp
Kelp is a type of brown algae that provides a rich supply of nutrients that promote general well-being and support healthy glandular function and hormone balance, especially relating to the thyroid gland. Kelp is naturally rich in trace minerals, including potassium, iodine and zinc. Kelp is also one of the best food sources of iodine, an essential trace mineral that supports glandular function and helps maintain healthy metabolism and energy levels. Iodine is also essential for the proper functioning of the thyroid gland and production of thyroid hormones.
