VS-C® TCM Concentrate supports your immune and respiratory systems, while balancing your energy and spirit.
And, VS-C® TCM Concentrate also helps you detoxify!
TCM philosophy names five distinct energies that permeate the body: Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood.
In order to feel your best, these energies must be in balance.
TCM herbalists would describe this formula as “metal enhancing".
As a metal-enhancing blend, VS-C® TCM Concentrate is designed to promote connection and purity...to nurture the lungs and large intestine, the two organs associated with the metal element.
The large intestine lets go of toxins and waste, while the lungs breathe in fresh air to nourish the blood and exhale additional toxins.
Healthy lungs and unimpeded air flow make for an optimal metal constitution.
In the mid-1980s, Nature’s Sunshine worked with Wenwei Xie, a doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine from Beijing, who came to the US as part of a research project on Chinese remedies for immune support.
Working with Dr. Xie, we developed VS-C® TCM Concentrate based on classical TCM formulations for the immune system.
VS-C® TCM Concentrate helps the body maintain a vital balance of yin and yang energy, promoting balance and harmony in the body.
Support your immune and respiratory tract health...with VS-C® TCM Concentrate.
Only from Nature's Sunshine!
According to Eastern philosophy, life permits us to work with what we have on earth here and now—body and mind—in order to reclaim and maintain the innate energy and spirit that reside within us. Energy and spirit must be awakened, nurtured and balanced in order for life to flourish.
Under TCM philosophy, VS-C® is designed to support immunity, respiratory tract health, and detoxification.
Dandelion
Dandelion is one of the most nutrient-rich in the plant kingdom as it's a source of many important minerals and vitamins. This ubiquitous plant supports digestion and is reported to have tonic effects on the liver and gallbladder. Traditionally used as a liver tonic, dandelion contains polysaccharides that may support liver function and help detoxify the liver. Dandelion has also been studied for its potential support of the immune system. Dandelion is rich in vitamin A and vitamin C, which support immune defenses. Dandelion also provides inulin, a type of soluble fiber that promotes the growth of beneficial gut bacteria known to support healthy immune function.
Purslane
Purslane is a commonly-used medicinal plant in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Purslane provides antioxidant activity, promotes a healthy inflammatory response, and supports immune function. Purslane contains many nutrients that are important for maintaining a healthy immune system, including high amounts of vitamin A, vitamin C, and alpha-linolenic acid (an omega-3 fatty acid).
Bupleurum
Bupleurum is the most important “cooling herb” according to Chinese herbology. Bupleurum is a bitter herb that is believed to aid the upward flow of "chi", or the body’s living force, thereby strengthening the body against stress. Bupleurum has been used to maintain normal nervous system function during mental stress. Bupleurum also strengthens the immune response and is often used in TCM to relieve respiratory congestion and provide relief from cold symptoms.
Scute
Scute root, also known as Chinese scullcap, has been used in TCM to “clear the heat” and promote a healthy inflammatory response. In TCM, scute is said to "sedate energy that ascends from the liver". Scute root nourishes the liver, gallbladder and spleen, while supporting fluid balance in the body and helping to removes toxins. Scute root contains a powerful antioxidant called baicalein. Scute works synergistically with bupleurum root.
Asian Ginseng
Asian ginseng root has been used for centuries to benefit both mental and physical health. Ginseng root has been traditionally consumed to boost energy, improve memory and concentration, promote endurance and exercise performance, enhance immune system activity, and elevate mood. As an adaptogen, ginseng helps optimize bodily functions, supports the body’s efforts to achieve balance, and is commonly used to promote energy and vitality. Active constituents in the plant, called ginsenosides, support the glandular system and boost immune defenses.
Licorice
Licorice root has been a key part of many Chinese herbal formulas for thousands of years. TCM has relied on licorice root to provide digestive and respiratory system support. Most Chinese herb combinations use licorice to balance the other herbs and to promote vitality. It has a reputation for helping the entire body maintain balance and for promoting well-being. Traditional herbalists use licorice root as a general tonic and as an expectorant to clear the respiratory tract and to help the body combat cough. Licorice root helps to loosen and thin mucus in the respiratory tract, making it easier to cough up and clear the airways.
