Soothe your digestion with concentrated extracts of four powerful time-honored herbs...the famous Essiac Tea formula.
E-Tea® capsules support immunity and help detoxify the blood, and they offer a more convenient way to take Essiac tea.
This product provides all of the herbal essence of the original Native American Essiac Tea formula that gained popularity in the mid-1900s.
Components within Essiac Tea have been traditionally used to soothe the digestive tract and detoxify the blood.
Traditional preparation of this tea requires a 10-hour brewing and steeping process, but Nature’s Sunshine offers the same herbal combination in convenient capsule form.
Burdock
Burdock has been traditionally used in herbal medicine to support the digestive system. Burdock contains bitter compounds that promote the secretion of digestive fluids and may help improve appetite. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, compounds in burdock help detoxify the blood and promote healthy circulation. It also helps protect the liver against toxins. Burdock root is a rich source of inulin, a non-digestible dietary fiber that stimulates the growth and activity of beneficial intestinal bacteria and promotes gut health. Inulin also appears to have liver-protecting effects.
Sheep Sorrel
Sheep sorrel, a perennial herb in the same plant family as buckwheat and rhubarb, grows wild in the U.S. Its leaves have a tangy, tart flavor and can be eaten raw or cooked. Sorrel has been used in Germany to support respiratory health. Sorrel has been used in traditional herbal medicine to help detoxify the blood, support liver function, improve urine flow. Sorrel also acts as a mild herbal laxative. Sorrel is a good source of vitamin C and potassium. It also contains tannins, which have a drying effect that may help reduce mucus production. During the Middle Ages, sorrel was used as a sour additive to many foods. Today it helps flavor soups, sandwiches and salads in Romania; borscht in Russia; salads in Vietnam and Brazil; and soups and curry in India.
Slippery Elm
Slippery elm is a species of elm native to eastern North America. Slippery elm contains up to 50% mucilage, which supports delicate body tissues. When mixed with water, the soft, inner bark of the slippery elm tree becomes gel-like and soothing. Slippery elm has been used traditionally to support the digestive system and the mucosal lining of the gut. It also absorbs toxins from the bowel and helps maintain normal elimination. In the 1800s, Native Americans used slippery elm for a variety of benefits, including support for gastrointestinaI tract health to soothe intestinal tissues and for digestive and immune support.
Turkey Rhubarb
Turkey rhubarb has been used for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to support healthy digestive and intestinal function. The roots are also used to support the liver and promote blood circulation to help detoxify the body. Turkey rhubarb contains natural compounds that can produce a laxative effect by increasing fluid levels in the intestines and stimulating bowel activity. Turkey rhubarb may also help regulate the gut microbiome and assist in protecting the intestinal mucosal barrier.
