Artemisia Combination provides effective and specific intestinal system support.
This power-packed botanical blend features a host of clean herbs and protective nutrients.
Artemisia Combination features two species of Artemisia — Sweet wormwood and Mugwort.
These two herbs contribute to a friendly environment for intestinal flora.
For maximum effectiveness, we’ve added elecampane, clove, garlic, ginger, spearmint and other powerful herbs that support intestinal health.
Elecampane
Elecampane was used by ancient Greeks and Romans for a number of health problems, including digestive and respiratory concerns. Hippocrates also advocated its use for the kidneys, brain, uterus and stomach. Elecampane was said to enhance digestion, improve poor appetite, and help expel unwanted intestinal invaders. Roman author, naturalist and military commander Pliny said that eating elecampane daily would “help digestion and cause mirth.” And we all need a little more mirth.
Sweet Wormwood
Sweet wormwood was used traditionally in a drink made with anise and fennel to soothe digestion and reduce gas. As the name implies, this herb is often used in cleansing programs to ward off unwanted organisms. Plus, sweet wormwood contains natural compounds called artemisinins that may benefit immune function.
Cat's Claw
Cat's claw has been traditionally used for digestive and joint health, to support the body’s natural immune defenses, and as a general health tonic. Cat's claw is regarded as the most sacred herb among the native Ashaninka Indians of Peru and other Amazonian tribes. Indigenous peoples in the Andes have used cat's claw as a traditional medicine for a wide variety of health concerns such as joint discomfort, immune function, stomach problems, and intestinal complaints.
Cloves
Cloves are the tiny flower buds of the clove tree, a tropical evergreen tree native to Indonesia, Madagascar and Tanzania. Cloves have a history of traditional use and are linked with oral and digestive health. Cloves are said to promote healthy digestion and assimilation of dietary nutrients. Cloves may also enhance the production of gastric mucus, which functions as a barrier and helps prevent damage to the stomach lining by digestive acids. Plus, cloves may help protect the liver. Cloves are rich in antioxidants and have been shown to stimulate immune function to inhibit the growth of unfavorable microbes in the gastrointestinal tract.
Ginger
Ginger has been used as both food and medicine in Asia for thousands of years. Although it originated in Southeast Asia, its use spread throughout the eastern and western civilizations where it was valued for cooking, digestive support and its medicinal merits. Traditionally, ginger has helped with a laundry list of complaints, including cold, fever, joint discomfort, aches, cramps, oral health, circulatory health, plus indigestion, gas, nausea and vomiting.
Spearmint
Spearmint is native to Europe and Asia and has become a popular addition to salads, beverages and many dishes. This plant’s spear-shaped leaves contain menthol, a terpene with cooling and perhaps soothing properties. Spearmint also contains carvone, which adds to its sweet flavor. Spearmint leaves and oil have been used traditionally for digestion issues, including nausea and gas, and as a memory booster.
Turmeric
Turmeric is used in Indian and Chinese medicine and is a major component of curry powder. Rich in powerful antioxidants (curcuminoids), turmeric root supports a healthy inflammatory response as it nourishes the immune and circulatory systems. Curcumin, the primary active ingredient, has been studied extensively for its beneficial effects. A potent antioxidant, curcumin supports a healthy inflammatory response and may help support joint, brain and gut health, as well as immune system function.
Olive Leaf
Olive leaf has been shown to have powerful, health-boosting benefits. Olive leaf extract, a concentrated form of the nutrients found in olive leaves, is a potent source of antioxidants, including oleuropein. Research suggests that oleuropein enhances the immune system's ability to attack and neutralize foreign bacteria and viral invaders.
