For more than 50 years, we’ve honored the healing power of the Earth by exploring the world for the purest and most potent herbs and botanicals. Like you, we appreciate and understand the critical need for sustainability in all of our efforts.
In recognition of Earth Day and all we do to preserve Earth’s power, we recently published our 2024 Impact Report and wanted to share a few highlights with you.
Nature’s Sunshine was founded to help people experience the power of nature for themselves. In 2024, we surpassed our goal to share the healing power of nature with more than 1,000,000 women and children in vulnerable populations around the world.
Thank you to all our employees, distributors, volunteers and partners who helped to make this goal a reality.
In 2021 we challenged our three U.S. distribution centers to work toward zero waste certification for their respective facilities. Through aggressive recycling projects and other efforts to reduce plastic usage and streamline our operations, our teams received TRUE Zero Waste Gold certification in early 2024.
In 2022, Nature’s Sunshine partnered with two local solar fields to become the first herbal supplement manufacturer in our industry to convert to 100% solar power, achieving our goal ahead of schedule.
We’ve since expanded the use of renewable energy with solar panels installed at our corporate offices and our new European distribution center in Poland operating with 100% wind power. We’re now exploring opportunities to expand renewable energy usage throughout Latin America and other markets.
We’ve implemented numerous strategies to help us achieve a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. Having replaced our 26-year-old boilers in our manufacturing plant in mid-2024, we’re on track to achieve our goal this year!
Our manufacturing facility has engaged in a war on waste in all its forms, and through their efforts have moved us to the verge of achieving a 35% reduction in manufacturing waste since 2021.
Whether it’s organically grown bergamot oranges to support metabolic balance and cardiovascular health, or yerba mate grown by indigenous peoples on protected lands in the Amazon, our ingredients are sourced with sustainability in mind.
Our product and R&D teams work with farmers, wildcrafters and industry partners to ensure that the herbs, roots and botanicals we use will be around to help you, your children and your children’s children. Because when people are well, the planet has a better chance to be well, too.
Check out all that we’ve done in 2024 to help protect and preserve the Earth’s resources so that the beneficial properties of these powerful plants can be enjoyed for generations to come.
